What are clear aligners?
Clear aligners are a removable alternative to fixed braces. Treatment uses a series of custom-made plastic trays, each shaped slightly differently, which you change every one to two weeks. Each tray applies gentle pressure to move your teeth a small amount closer to the planned position.
The trays are shaped to your teeth, so they sit close and are difficult to notice in normal conversation. They come out for eating, drinking and cleaning, which means brushing and flossing carry on as usual and there is no long list of foods to avoid.
In some cases our dentists may recommend a combination of orthodontic treatments (braces & aligners) to help achieve your desired outcome. Braces are often recommended when teeth require major movement and aligners are ideal for precise minor movements. Every mouth is different and our dentists will let you know all options available for you.
