Should I go to the hospital for a dental emergency?
Hospitals are generally not well equipped for most dental treatments. So for the majority of issues with your teeth, including urgent issues, seeking care from an emergency dentist is the recommended course of action.
However, if you or a loved one has experienced severe trauma or if there is swelling affecting breathing, please seek emergency care at a hospital.

Many health funds will cover emergency dental care if you have extras cover, but it always depends on the level of cover you have with your policy.
